sunlight-it can work wonders

Some interesting statistics from foremost vitamin D researcher Michael Holick about
disease that can be prevented by regular sun exposure:
"Colon and breast cancers which may be prevented by regular sun exposure, have mortality rates of 20 to 65 percent and kill 138,000 Americans annually.Osteoporosis, a bone disease that can be mitigated by regular sun exposure, is endemic, affecting 25 million Americans. Every year, 1.5 million Americans with osteoporosis suffer bone fractures, which can be fatal when the person is elderly...the pediatric disease rickets is unknown in children who get enough sun exposure, and, indeed, one of the most effective ways of treating kids with rickets is to get them into the sunshine."

November News

As we continue to slog through the worst economic times most of us under 80 can remember, here at Tangiers we appreciate your continued support.
For the month of November, we are offering the $5 Tan! This includes any booth, for any amount of time that will work for you! This is an unprecedented price, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of this great value.
We know of several area shops offering tanning at low prices, but ask yourself how well their staff treats you, if they are making sure you are tanning in a safe way, within legally mandated schedules, providing sanitary eye protection and with proper respect for your comfort and safety. We feel that no other salon can match our service, equipment, or knowlegable staff.
We hope this price break will help you manage your budget, especially after "the summer that wasn't." After all the gloomy rain, if you are craving a little light in your life, this might just be the best time to come and enjoy it!
While you are visiting us for tanning, come see some of the new things we are offering for your holiday shopping consideration - I'll be posting photos all week of new jewelry and other goodies.

hope your halloween was frightfully fun!
